pandemic movies

I’m doing some overdue archival work — organizing and tidying my own archive (it is August after all… italianisti will understand).

Here’s a tiny item from the memory chest: the 10-second intro I made for the Consort’s COVID-prompted “great performances” video series. For the series, we used archival audio recordings for which I created visual accompaniment. It took the slideshow/projection design paradigm and moved it to the realm of video. The world was on fire and everything was terrible, but creating those videos was an incredible opportunity to learn something new and to explore the art-music equation in new ways.

This little intro was one of the first things I created, and I’m still pretty pleased with it. The blank space at the end is where title and composer credits appear in the actual videos.

The vids are searchable on YouTube; my playlist is here.
